The parliamentary constituency of Rochford and Southend East is split across two separate areas of local government.

If you live in Southend (including the areas of Shoeburyness, Southchurch, Thorpe Bay and Westcliff) your local authority is Southend Borough Council

If you live in the district of Rochford (including Barling, Foulness, Sutton and Wakering) you have two local authorities: Rochford District Council and Essex County Council

Neighbourhood Police Teams

One of Labour's most effective policies has been to ensure that local communities get their own teams of police officers who are responsible for covering the streets in their neighbourhoods. The aim is that residents get to know their local police officers, who in turn get to develop a good knowledge of the issues that affect the area.
